WLB Cheerleaders Qualify for State!

On Sunday, January 18, 2009, the WLB Cheerleaders traveled to Colfax to particiapate in an ICCA Invitational. The squad did a great job and got the points needed to qualify for the ICCA State Championships that will be held on Sunday, February 15 in Springfield.

Week of January 12th

Well, today was kind of a disappointing day. I was happy with the performance, especially since we had such issues with getting practice time right before returning to school. I know everyone felt kind of down about not qualifying for ICCA State, but remember we still have one more opportunity to get the points needed to qualify. I wanted to give a run down for the week that we have coming up. So here goes:

Monday, 1/12

• Practice 7-8 am

Tuesday, 1/13

• Practice 7-8 am

Wednesday, 1/14

• Practice 7-8 am

Saturday, 1/18

• 8th Grade County Game at CCS -- Time to be announced
• Practice 1-2:30 pm

Sunday, 1/19

• ICCA Invitational @ Ridgeview High School -- Colfax, IL -- Times and information to come out at the beginning of the week.

8th Grade Night!

January 6, 2009 -- 8th Grade Night

Tonight was 8th Grade Night. All of the 8th grade boys basketball players, pom squad members, and of course cheerleaders were recognized with their parents. Tonight marked the last time they would play, dance, or cheer in the WLB gym! What an outstanding night as the 8th grade boys won their game and the 8th grade pom squad and cheerleaders performed a fantastic routine during half time. GREAT JOB Ladies...I hope you enjoyed YOUR night.

December 11, 2008 -- Home Game against CCS-NHM-Z

At this game, the cheerleaders performed their competition routine for the first time. The ladies did great. It was a good trial run for the IESA Cheerleading Competition on Saturday, December 13, 2008

Practice on Sunday, 1/4

Practice on Sunday, 1/4 has been cancelled due to a volleyball open gym being held at the high school. I hope to get some gym time on Friday, 1/9 prior to our competition on Saturday, 1/10. I will check with Mr. Skold about that time on Monday and let you know when it has been set.
